World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth’s 8.1 Patch Details

Posted time: Sep 30,2018

World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas has detailed the upcoming changes to the new Battle for Azeroth expansion. Although we don't know when Patch 8.1, called Tides of Vengeance, will be available for all players, it has already entered the public test realm earlier. According to the presentation, we also know what players expect from the content update.

Hazzikostas used the first part of the presentation to discuss the upcoming story. The Player’s War Campaigns will be expanded in the upcoming patch to continue to spread the story of Alliance versus Horde. Hazzikostas also confirmed that Saurfang, Tyrande and Vol'Jin will have their stories expanded upon in 8.1.

In terms of new content, players can enter a Warfront in Darkshore that focuses on the conflict between the Night Elves and the Forsaken. With this Warfront will have an updated Darkshore zone, which will provide the final game activity for Warfront players.

The island system is also being updated, with two new environments added. However, the island will also see some overhauls, with new events, enemies, spawn rates and interactions being added.

The Tides of Vengeance will include two new raids.

The first will be a nine-boss raid that is tentatively called Siege of Zuldazar, although Hazzikostas said the name may change. This raid will be different from anything that Blizzard has created in the past, and will be completely different for both Horde and Alliance players. Alliance players will enter the Horde city from the sea, while Horde players start from the jungle. Each faction has three bosses, but once the sixth boss is cleared, they can be taken over by the Horde or Alliance respectively.

The second raid is called Crucible of Storms, which only features two bosses. The raid seems to focus on the old gods in Stormsong Valley. Hazzikostas said that this raid will be similar to the three-boss raid Trials of Valor that appeared in the Legion expansion.

Players will also see some system changes in Tides of Vengeance, and the team will continue to provide class updates in 8.1. However, it seems that Azerite traits  especially, will also be getting more interesting in this patch.

Finally, players who are interested in reputation will gain some quality of life improvements in 8.1. The Champions of Azeroth - and other factions - will have their reputations feature across characters and be made account-wide. This should help  achievement hunters and alt players have a more friendly experience with World of Warcraft in the future.

Patch 8.1, Tides of Vengeance, is expected to hit live servers later this year, possibly at some point in November or early December. You can always get cheap wow items and wow gold on professional site IGXE.Com.
