FIFA 18 Key Features Revealed
As we know, FIFA 18 will be here within just two short months: September 27th, 2017 to be exact. And a lot of new features had been added to the upcoming FIFA 18 gameplay as reported, let's have a conclusion today based on the previous FIFA news:
FIFA 18: The Journey returns
The first news we will mention about FIFA 18 is the returning of the brilliant story mode: The Journey. EA CEO Andrew Wilson said: “FIFA 18 will build on the foundation we created with story mode this year, bringing players back to The Journey with Season 2, featuring new characters and new storylines.”
The Journey was brilliant but flawed - but that's not surprising that this mode is back for the second help. EA revealed that is had been played more than 10 million times, which is not bad going for the new game mode.
The story will be found where it left off last time around, but Alex Hunter is not sure as whether to seek a big money transfer or stick it out at whichever club he was at last time in your game.
FIFA 18 Stadia with atmosphere and Dribbling is better
EA has made a big deal about the atmosphere of stadiums – so that a rainy away day at Blackpool feels different to the hazy sunshine of a match in Rio de Janeiro, for example. But it's not just that: fans are better animated and will behave as inderviduals rather than a single painted texture. Fans will rush towards the player who has scored the last minute winner, for example.
The animations for dribbling are now modulated frame by frame, which theoretically means that it will feel much smoother, rather than like you are waiting for a cutscene to finish each time you try and shimmy past someone. Time will tell us whether it is accurate, but people who've had hands on time with the E3 preview seem to think it's more than just hype.
FIFA 18 Substitutions are smoother
It is a bit of a pain to make a substitution FIFA games in past as you must pause the game, go through several menus and manually replace a tired player. It broke the process, half the time you might just decide to keep it with the current players to keep things simple.
FIFA 18 hopes to solve this problem with a little help from artificial intelligence. If your player does not perform well, tired or yellow carded, the game will flash up a suggested substitution when the ball goes out of play. If you see one you like, just click the appropriate button and your man will be off the pitch before you know it.
FIFA 18 Editions
Ther are no longer called Legends, they are "icons" - as far as we can tell, that's because they are not an exclusive to the Xbox One version anymore. So celebrations to all PS owners, you can finally put van Basten in your Ultimate Team.
If you are a fan of Ultimate Team mode, you will notice the legends: extremely rare cards with former professional footballers that can really add pep to your team - let alone making your opponent jealous. EA has been steadily adding these to the game, though only on the Xbox version. And there may be another most exciting addition this year - Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
EA has announced that FIFA 18 will be released on September 29, 2017. It will be on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Please note that not all versions are created equal: last time, The Journey was lost on PS3 and Xbox 360, it is the same this year, because these versions use the old engine. The Switch version will not get The Journey, so you have to weigh a decision whether it's better to have a great story mode, or the joy of instant two player moder wherever you go.
