On Tuesday, Fallout 76 will get a new patch which promises the improvements of performance and stability for the game, according to a post from Bethesda on Friday.

The new patch on December 4th will address the game's bug fixes and some balancing changes, in an apparent attempt to address some of the players' dissatisfaction with the multiplayer game.

The Bethesda will fix a bug in which players can exceed their "carrying weight", meaning the limit to how much inventory one player can carry, which is the hope expressed in a Reddit thread comments from players regarding the patch. Some users speculate that this exploit could cause stability issues.

For console players, Bethesda solved the problem of endless loading screens when players log out of their accounts while playing games. For Xbox One users, fixed a crash caused by sending multiple team invitations to non-friend players after leaving Vault 76. The game console's updates are about 3GB.

The PC updates are much smaller, with only 36MB. PC framerates are uncapped again with this update, but Bethesda pointed out that “reaching very high framerates will no longer cause movement speed to increase.” This problem was reportedly resolved in the November 19 patch.

In addition to stability improvements and bug fixes, Bethesda added some additional features, including AFK functionality (away from keyboard), which disconnects players who are inactive for 10 minutes. The players will receive a 1 minute countdown warning before being kicked off.

Finally, some balance changes come to Fallout 76 with this update. The experience rewarded for defeating high-level enemies has been reduced, and players should get two to four items as a reward for each boss, correcting an issue with Boss loot. According to the patch notes, the number of items will vary depending on the “the creature’s difficulty and level.”

Automatic weapons will be more powerful, and damage increased by about 20% “across the board.”

Hopefully these fixes will create a more enjoyable experience for the Fallout 76 players, as Bethesda promised to be more communicative last week and “work to make a better bridge between [players] and the dev team at BGS.”
