Want to Know About Dark Age of Camelot Economics?

Edited by: Alexandra Aug 15,2010

If you are an online game lover then you must have known with Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC), a famous MMORPG developed by Mythic Entertainment and is popular for its 3D fantasy environment. Many gamers play this game every day by paying for subscription and get enamored by the adventurous circumstances come on the way of their character in the game. But very few of them know in details about the DAoC economics while this area is really important for the professional players as well as who play as an amateur for further advancement and enhancement in the game.

Economic activity in Dark Age of Camelot gets promoted by the help of player market by selling as well as acquiring in-game items like armors and weapons. Also the promotion process uses Tradeskills which help DAoC characters create many usable items like weapons, armors etc.

This game also maintains some specific denominations for its currency and in ascending order these come like 100 copper = 1 silver, 100 silver = 1 gold, 1000 gold = 1 platinum and 1000 platinum = 1 mythril. It has been noticed that amount of gained coins on one character generally doesn’t go beyond the limit of 200 and thus mythril is unattainable to some extent. Here comes the strategies and policies how to accumulate as much as currency possible in DAoC for the character. Below is some options by which you can achieve that.

Trinketing- if you defeat monsters in P Vs E realm then it will drop your in-game items like armors or weapons. But if you have supported skills or high Tradeskills score then you can relieve those dropped items for their raw-materials and later you can craft new items and sell them to NPC merchants in return of more coins.

Tradeskills- there are six Tradeskills by acquiring what a character can be advanced in creating more in-game usable items and can sell to NPC merchants to earn coins. Those six
Tradeskills are tailoring, armocraft, fletching, weaponcraft, spellcrafting and alchemy. There is no restriction for a character to choose a Tradeskill.

Support Skill- all these above mentioned six Tradeskills depend on some support skills like woodworking, leatherworking, clothworking and metalworking.

Woodworking- if your character is skilled in woodworking then he/she can use it in repairing towers as well as in keeping damage by member of opposing realm. By repairing this you can earn character realm point by which you can purchase improved or new realm ability.

Housing- after accumulating sufficient coins you can purchase a house in DAoC but it’s limited to one per account on traditional server. If you play on co-op as well as PvP server then you can purchase up to 3 houses but one house per character per realm.

Player Market-this player market exists in the housing zones and is unique to each single realm. Here you can’t combat as it’s not allowed here. Your character can enter the player market which is specified for its realm and then can purchase usable items from a known NPC who are considered as market explorers.
