Square Enix is going to release the next series of Final Fantasy MMORPG in September, 2010 and it’s named as Final Fantasy XIV. Now the second phase of alpha test is being carried on besides its beta testing which commenced on 13th July, 2010. It is heard from the developer and publisher team that this FFXIV would be different in many aspects from its predecessor FFXI. Let’s have a brief on the game play and strategies of FFXIV.

Unlike level based progression of character as well as experience points of FFXI, Final Fantasy XIV will emphasize on skill based progression. Player can create character or avatar of their own choice just like FFXI but here they will not be encouraged for group play instead solo playing and balanced group play will be encouraged. Also character can be developed by using weapons.

Here in FFXIV players can choose their role by exerting different weapons as well as crafting different tools. The roles are carved up into four disciplines like Disciples of Magic, Disciples of War (role of mastering combat arms), Disciples of the Hand (role of crafting industry and synthesis with creative imagination) as well as Disciples of the Land (role of gathering students of natural orders as well as material resources).
