Call Of Duty: Let's keep that annoying trait in Hollywood, shall we?

We know the Call of Duty responsibility has switched back to Treyarch and we also know they're abandoning the traditional World War II setting. The fans have asked for something new and Infinity Ward certainly cashed in with their Modern Warfare concept. We're not sure where the next CoD will take place but the hot rumor is that it will involve Vietnam, and according to "reliable sources" found by PlanetXbox360, the new entry "will focus heavily on the story, specifically the struggles of each individual person in your squadron." One source says to expect a pacing and style found in certain Vietnam movies like "Platoon" and "Apocalypse Now," which is probably a good idea given the current direction of the industry. And besides, because most everyone knows these games are all about the multiplayer, it's good to see the developer still intends to provide us with a worthy single-player experience.

We're sure to see more info on the new Call of Duty - scheduled to arrive late next year; it's like an annual schedule now - within the next few months. But I like the idea of a heavy story...provided they don't take the standard film route and choose to lecture.
