World Of Warcraft: Will Blizzard Add Level Scaling In Older Contents?

One of the iconic features of Legion is the introduction of Level Scaling in Broken Isles, where players can enjoy specific areas without having to change their position in the storyline. This new feature has been affirmed by fans, especially those who want to learn more about their content. With the patch 7.2 approaching, many people have expected this mechanism to be completely added to the game - including classic content. But the truth of the matter is that there may be some problems that could prevent Blizzard from completely adding this feature into the game.

World Of Warcraft: Level Scaling

The Legion introduced one of the biggest changes in the game: the level scaling - which was called as  "the true open world" by the Game Director Ion Hazzikostas. With this feature, players will be able to move freely between the four zones in the Broken Isles: Azsuna, Val'Shar'h, Highmountain and Stormheim. Each area starts at level 100 and is upgraded to level 109. All of the gears, quests and rewards will be scaled according to the player's level. It sounds very neat, especially if one wants to dig deeper into the content of a particular area. So the question is, why not add it completely into the game?

The Impact of Level Scaling in Classic Contents

Not everyone knows the existence and identity of the ghost child in the depths of the Icecrown Citadel, nor is the purpose of the dragon sleeping in the caves of Ahn'Qiraj, especially as they're hidden beneath countless quests within their respective regions. But with the Level Scaling, players will be able to fully explore specific areas without worrying about over-allocations and what. In addition, players can enjoy in a region to explore hidden secrets, as mentioned above. At present, this is not possible, because most players only need to complete some tasks, and then move to another area to continue the leveling process.

When looking at this angle, the level scaling is definitely a huge bonus to the game, but on the other hand, if Blizzard add all the classic content with this feature permanently, then there is little other reason for the players to explore the entire content. While players will like their favorite areas, it somehow hindered them from trying new needs. And it can be said that World of Warcraft has one of the best scenery of all MMORPGs. If Blizzard  incorporates level scaling across the entire world in some way, wouldn't it indirectly jeopardize the game?
