GW2 president talked about how the payment model comes out

Mar 30,2012

Guild Wars2 payment model is one of the succession of Guild Wars. When Arena Net announced their free program, they have a sense of the transition to a monthly payment model. So that was turned into a completely different direction. Seven years later, MMO industry is in a completely different location. The number of free games was on the rise. Steady decline the number of monthly fee MMO game, do not have the game draws on the sale of boxed games and free expansion package balance mode. But GW2 did. So Guild Wars 2 gold was sold well for a long time.

In a recent interview on the studio, I finally have the opportunity to talk with Mike O'Brien, Arena Net president, about the situation, why there was no game to emulate Guild Wars2 mode?

"To be honest, I think this is a MMO game production costs and risks of too much sake." O'Brien explained, "Back in 2005, MMO status quo on that time, you can only play one game. You want to register the game, buy game cards GW2 Gold per month, play several games at the same time is unlikely."

“We have no reason to hope players only playing one game.” O'Brien said, "We are all players, right? Don’t you like to experience all new games even buy Guild Wars 2 gold or other gold? Serious - MMO is being developed in this direction. We changed the game one by one, only if the new game lunched. Do you agree?”

What We Know About Inferno

Mar 26,2012

Straight out the EVE Online Fanfest: Inferno will be launching on May 22nd. In addition, UK subscription prices will be dropping to £9.99. We'll keep you posted in this thread as new information comes out.

'Inferno' is being billed as a PvP-focused expansion for the MMO. Its content includes a revamped wardec system, new ships, additional modules, and an improved mercenary marketplace.

CCP also announced that UK customers will be able to purchase a subscription for £10 a month from May 1, paying in pounds sterling rather than Euros, as before.

While the name "Inferno" might suggest space volcanoes or perhaps some extra spicy edition of EVE that leaves naught but a patch of scorched earth in place of your tastebuds, CCP's taking a more abstract route and focusing on the intergalactic MMO's war declaration system, Faction Warfare rewards, and a re-balancing of every ship in the game. Meanwhile, on April 24, CCP will release a precursor patch full of unspecified "meaningful content." So then, prepare yourselves, lovers, fighters, and number crunchers. This looks to be a pretty great start to the year.

Crimewatch Reborn

We know that the expansion will touch on Crimewatch, the system that handles aggression mechanics within EVE. According to the developer presentation on this, CCP is hoping to simplify how fighting takes place in high-sec space, as well as how pilot security status affects us.

So far, so good: there is little in EVE items that is more lamentably complicated than high-sec aggression mechanics. The presentation did not give any hint as to whether there would be a fundamental reworking of the way that high-sec wars happen, which is something that I and many others have hoped would occur. We'll see.

Drone Region Changes?

Another thing that seems likely is a change to the drone regions. In his economics presentation this morning, Dr. Eyjo was asked whether there would be any changes to the way the drone regions affect the mineral economy in EVE. In response, he said something along the lines of "I did not say that" while nodding emphatically. If true, this could seriously affect the political landscape of EVE Online. Would drones give bounties like other EVE NPCs? Or would they drop something else, instead? Again, we'll see.

EVE Ship Rebalancing

The presentation on ship balancing from has been less tantalizing, with mostly a rehashing of CCP's new design philosophy as already presented in recent developer blogs. This is a promising line of thought for CCP to pursue, but I had hoped for more specifics in person. The only thing of significance that I noticed was a wincing reference to tech III ships not being intended to exceed the capabilities of tech II ships in their area of specialty.

Does that mean a nerf? Possibly, but based on the presentation it seems more likely that there will be de-specialization of tech III bonuses. One example presented includes splitting up the gang bonuses projected by a suitably fit tech III cruiser so that they give several bonuses rather than one, while the tech II battlecruisers would continue to give a single, more significant bonus. Fair enough. But let's hope there is something more exciting and specific than this eve items. After all, players do not fly from all over the world to be told vague generalities about tech I ships needing some love.

Great Things About Pandaria

Mar 20,2012

Mists of Pandaria is the upcoming fourth major expansion pack for World of Warcraft. Players will be introduced to Pandaria, a new land south of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms that’s been magically hidden since the time of The Sundering. Its playable inhabitants are called Pandaren, a race of humanoid pandas heavily influenced by ancient Chinese myth, legends, and wuxia. The expansion will also add more content and improvements to the game, such as raising the level cap, introducing a new class, a reworked vanity pet system, introducing a new pet battle system, new dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, and more.

FEATURES
Pandaren | The new race will have the following classes available: Hunters, Monks, Mages, Priests, Rogues, Shamans, and Warriors.
Pandaria | The new continent will include five new zones, and The Wandering Isle, a roaming giant turtle where Pandarens start their story.
Monk | The new class will use Chi for its power base, and will be available to every race except Goblin and Worgen.
New Instances | Three new ones have so far been revealed for Pandaria: Temple of the Jade Serpent, Stormstout Brewery, and Shando-Pan Monastery.
Level Cap | Will be raised from 85 to 90.

Wow Raid Service| Requires pve item lvl 380 or above

The New Battlegrounds
The first new battleground was the Temple of Kot Mogu.  This is a brand new game type for Blizzard, and essentially it revolves around a Mogu artifact.  The team that wields this artifact is continually gaining points towards the winning point total (yet to be determined).  The interesting part?  If you try to hold the artifact off in the periphery of the map, you’ll be earning points very slowly.  If on the other hand you try to hold the artifact in the dead-center and wide open defensively middle of the map you’ll earn points at breakneck speeds.  The tough part is then staying alive.  The map looked very open and laid out very evenly, with lots of potential hiding spots for those who’d prefer to try wow items and play it safe.  The architecture was all stylized after the Mogu who used to rule Pandaria 10,000 years prior.  It’s definitely shaping up to be a fun take on the “capture and hold” mechanic.

The second battleground is the Stranglethorn Diamond Mine.  The idea behind the fight here is that each side obviously wants to control the valuable resources within.  How do they do this?  At any given time, there will be three mine carts moving on tracks through the mine.  You’ll fight over control of each, and the goal is to have control of the carts as they reach their destination.  Along the way, you’ll fight off other players, but attacking forces can also direct the tracks path by hitting turning levers to give themselves a bit longer (or shorter) to try and take back control of the cart.  We didn’t see these battlegrounds in action, outside of flybys on the test server, but one thing’s for sure: they’re both very different and unique additions to the BG rotation.

The Monk and the Talent System
Greg Street stood up during the opening presentation to give us some more (and reiterated from BlizzCon) information on the Monk and changes to the Talent System.  Ghostcrawler opened up by saying he understood why players might be scared of the pared down talent system, but reiterated that over time the talents have gotten too complex and that in doing so they really lost any sense of customization that they might have had.  The team believes that talents had become too much about “you need this build to play this class” and too much about the math and percentages to offer any real customization.  This new talent system will inherently add more choice and customization from character to character in that it will allow players to focus on what tools they want to use on their character and worry less about “I need this talent for the 1% extra DPS”.  In short, the math is gone and it’s all about the spells and skills now.

Greg then showed you how re-specs will work this time around.  Using a consumable called “Tome of Clear Mind” players will be able to re-select any one talent.  They will cost some gold as well as wow power leveling, but not much, and you won’t have to re-spec an entire build with each use.

Next up was some talk about the new class: The Monk.  This was mostly information we’ve heard from BlizzCon, but he stated again that this is a class intended to bring a sort of “Street Fighter” mechanic to the game.  You charge up Ki points, and different skills will cost different amounts of Ki, so you’ll have to balance out what skills you use for each situation, as well as keep track of how much Ki you have.  Every ability has its own brand new animation, and they’re different for each race as well.  We were treated to a nice video of these new animations, including the “Breath of Fire” skill which makes its return from WC3.  Lastly, Greg reminded us that each different specialization of the Monk is like a different class.  The Windwalker is melee DPS focused on punching and kicking.  The Brew Master is an avoidance tank focused on high mobility. And the Mistweaver is a melee-damage dealing healer that uses a number of different heals including doing damage to heal his allies.

Why I Choose WoW Power Leveling

Mar 15,2012

I’m a level 70 (very quickly being level 80) Paladin in your world of Warcraft, and I use a Power leveling service. /gasp you say? Properly listen to me out folks. I perform difficult at my career, create a decent living, and when I are available property I just wish to overlook every little thing and unwind, alter into my comfy outfits – and snuggle as a great deal as some WOW? No, not quite. I’m not searching to ride close to on my mount and appreciate the scenery, or pass my gaming several hours mindlessly killing monsters for gold and xp. What I seriously want would be to login to my decked-out character and mess up some stuff! I wish to engage in intense animate combat 1v1 or 2v2 and even monster vs. monster towards worthy sentient opponents sitting at their laptops throughout the wable from me with their adrenaline pumping just like mine, with senses and mind engrossed and abilities of fast thinking, reaction, and method engaged.

Occasionally I wish to go ballistic in your Battlegrounds, hitting many targets with my Consecration spell and bubbling up in your entrance lines to absorb all harm for my group, with fellow people in America like myself functioning collectively inside of a possibly not unpredictable but a lowest of organic people today energetic style towards other true Americans, not bots having a predetermined motion sequence. occasionally I wish to perform the arenas with my Chicago pals and outmaneuver the opposing scheming, organized, and practiced group via our skill, teamwork, and communication, coordinating just about every strategic proceed on conference phone call for optimum efficiency, shouting once the heat rises, celebrating when we win, groaning if we lose, and good tuning our method with every exhilarating battle. And occasionally I just wish to hunt people today straight down and kill me. Now that is good quality entertainment. When I get property from the stressful, boring, or just standard morning at perform this can be specifically the type of outlet I need, leisure engaging sufficient to relieve any restrained psychomotor agitation. this can be why I perform WOW – and this can be why I use WOW Power leveling when my character necessities leveling or when I am outgeared by everybody else.

I remember when world of Warcraft primary arrived out, also it was in fact enjoyment to make an try to do some quests, and uncover new territories, and kill a few hundred bears or murlocs or what have you, and get all excited whenever you obtained a manufacturer new level and obtained to choose new abilities or talents, or last but not least obtained to put on a wizard hat or obtain amount. But are available on, how several occasions are you able to seriously do that prior to it gets old. No a single is fooled, Blizzard. There are like five quests that get repeated more than and over, just with various beasts to kill, pieces to gather, etc. I just created my passing away Knight, and I performed for only a few hours, performing some quests, screening my spells, prior to currently obtaining bored using the leveling process. And this can be having a manufacturer new expansion and an apparent work by Blizzard to produce the quests interesting, such as the eyesight of Acherus as properly as the stealing the horse ones. Yeah people quests had been type of cool. sufficient to produce me wish to quest for several hours and times right up until I get from level 55 to 80? Nope.

Many laugh and start looking straight down on my shameless utilization of WOW Power leveling services. "Duh, you would in fact spend somebody to perform a match for you? LOL." My answer: Duh, without a doubt I would, and I do. See for me it is just logical. I adore WoW powerleveling. Do I adore it sufficient to grind or quest for endless hours, staring in the XP bar out with the corner of my eyesight the entire time, the highlight with the entire ordeal becoming when I go back again to city and turn in several quests at a time and in fact get to determine the factor proceed a whole lot more than a millimeter? Certainly no. I obtained far better stuff to make an try to do with my no cost time. Like operating a country.
